Lilo Vaigafa
As Lupe
Lupe, as the new one, is the onion. The boys learn very quickly that there are many layers to her but that peeling away the layers can often end in tears. A lot of people – mainly the girls around The Boys – know a lot of rumours about Lupe, but very few of these have ever been actually confirmed. There is a big ence around Lupe and she does not let people in easily. Eventually, when the boys have earned the right to know they will find out that Lupe is the only daughter of a solo mother and a Māori father and that she worries that solo-motherhood is the future for her. Hence the fence; hence the desire to bop away her troubles and forget.
